The Queen’s (King’s) Christmas Message is a broadcast by Queen Elizabeth II made to the Commonwealth at Christmas. The tradition began in 1932 with a radio broadcast by King George V on the BBC Empire Service. Today the broadcast is made on television and radio via various providers. The idea for a Christmas Message from the Sovereign to the Commonwealth was originally mooted in 1932 by the founding father of the BBC, Sir John Reith. The idea of the speech was to inaugurate the then Empire Service, which is now known as the BBC World Service. The first Royal Christmas Message was issued by George V in 1932. The King was originally hesitant about using the relatively untried medium of radio to issue a Christmas Message. However he was reassured by a visit to the BBC in the summer of 1932, and agreed to try out the idea. So in 1932 on Christmas Day, King George V issued a Christmas Message from Ilmington Manor to the Empire via “wireless”. Edward VIII abdicated before his first Christmas on the Throne, and therefore never issued a Christmas Message. George VI continued the Christmas broadcasts. Perhaps his best known was delivered in 1939, in the opening stages of the Second World War, and contained the famous lines starting: “I said to the man who stood at the Gate of the Year”. Christmas Party Ideas – Create A Perfect Christmas Party

The first step to creating a great holiday party deciding on what type of party you want it to be. Being as creative as possible using some of the many party themes available to you, you will be able to have a party that will increase everyone’s joy around the holidays. The following Christmas party ideas will help inspire your Christmas party’s creation.

Many people prefer to keep themes to a minimum, while emphasizing the social aspect and food of the party. These types of parties will generally just have colors that match a general theme. A Christmas tree and a good Christmas dinner are usually the centerpiece of these types of parties. If you add a special theme, the party will have an extra sense of atmosphere, and this can make the whole event more fun.

This type of extra effort can give your party a great atmosphere. If you add a Santa to your party, you create a personal touch that makes any Christmas party better than most others. The traditional Christmas with basic decorations, a Christmas tree, and a great dinner is always good for any Christmas party too.

A good way to start decorating a themed party, is by matching all the colors of the decorations. When you use red and green, and even gold, you create a party atmosphere that clearly presents the mood intended for the party. Using as many decorations as possible will create a broader awareness of the joyous holiday season. When you use a central theme for your party, the guests feel welcomed and will participate more in the festivities by wearing costumes and bringing food that matches the overall party design.

Christmas parties are always a great hit. These events are always laid back and fun. People love to just enjoy themselves in the beautiful environment around them. If you can create this atmosphere with your decorations, then your party will be an amazing success.

Another great addition that can be added to any kind of Christmas party, are party games. Party games can be a great way to tie a theme together, but they are also great for bringing people together. When people enter into conversations, it may be uncomfortable and overly serious during a normal Christmas party, but when they enter into games together, they have very open and high spirits that spread to everyone at the party. These also give a central theme for everyone to talk about during the party. Costumes and games are great fun for all. Using these as part of your decorations can increase the joy your guests receive from the party.

You will also want to supply a good deal of food for your guests. If you can have your food match the overall theme, your party will be a great success. People like food that is designed to fit a general theme.

The best way to ensure that you create a great party is by planning well for your party. When you plan, you can make every detail the way you want it. You can organize more aspects to fit your theme to create a complete party. By planning, you will be able to get your guests to participate more and you will be able to choose all of the right decorations to use.

I live in California and I have a very deserving teacher who has always wanted to be able to volunteer during the Christmas/Holiday season decorating the white house. We as a class would fund for her flight and accommodations as an end of the year gift, however I would like some guidance as to who we would need to contact to make this happen next holiday season.
