The Best Office Christmas Party Is The One YOU Can Throw!
Article by Vikram Kumar
The best office Christmas parties are typically the ones that you hear about from all of your friends and associates! Those are the ones that have everybody talking about what was there and about how everything was just perfect – just the right theme, just the right entertainment and just the right mixture of games and team building activities.
The search for the right set of elements for your next office Christmas party is a search for the meaning of what a true Christmas party is all about. Christmas time is all about togetherness and that needs to be a part of the theme of every party or event that is participated in by all of the employees you have! The very reason that you have parties of any kind is to show that you care about and want every employee and their families to know that your company is concerned about their social needs as well as just the financial.
One of the best ways to make sure that all is going according to plan is to actually have a plan! That is very easily accomplished by using one of the many checklists that you can get from any of the many E-books, available online for just such an occasion, however, for your piece of mind, your task(s) in this matter should be to acquire the services of those who do this professionally. There are any number of event planners, many of which will provide you with the resources you need to throw the best office Christmas party around! (You know the one that everybody will be talking about, next year?) The search for the best event planner can begin, of course, with a search through your favorite search engine and checking in with some of them. The one that will give the best efforts will be those that provide all the information you need to get started and have the customer service that will help you instead of getting in your way.
Whether it is a traditional Christmas party with a nice meal, presents for the kids and maybe a sing-a-long or a non-traditional party with the team building elements that make parties held for the company all that much more fun, event planners have all of the tricks of the trade to help you make yours the best. There are many of the games of skill and of chance available for your use, such as the Giant Wii game or the many different quiz show games as well as some of the old stand-bys. There are games of chance such as Casino, blackjack and poker that would make any ‘Monte Carlo’ night an instant hit with everyone!
Just thinking about the possibilities that are available when you have a complete team of people working on making sure that your party gets off to a good start and stays on track enables you to feel better about taking on this assignment. The moral is boosted, the employees see a little bit more of some the board members and other members of management in a less restrictive light and you get all the credit for a Christmas party that will be the hit of the year!
Accolade Corporate Events has been in the event planning business for a long time! They have the experience and the portfolio to ensure that everything is taken care of at your next Office Christmas party and nothing is left to chance! don’t you think it’s a little early to be planning the Christmas party?
What do you think? Answer below!
Beggar’s Bingo, using white elephant gifts.
Everyone gets a card with 10 spaces on it. They fill in numbers 1-50. The caller calls numbers until someone has all 10 squares checked off. Then the game is over. Each time a number is called everyone who has that number goes up to the table and takes a wrapped gift. When all gifts are gone from the table, people take gifts from each other. At the end you unwrap what you have. The end!
Secret Santa is the staple for offices.Set a monetary limit, put everybody’s name in a hat and everybody draws a name.
What we do, is everyone bring a gift that $ 15 or less, wrapped, the party. They go in a big pile. Everyone picks a number out of the hat. (However many people there are, that’s the number of slips of paper numbered 1-whatever goes into the hat) and the person who picks #1 picks something from the pile first and opens it. The person who has #2 and each person after that, has the option of picking a wrapped gift from the pile or “stealing” someone else’s gift that’s been opened and that person has to pick from the pile. This game goes on and on until everyone has had their turn, then #1 gets the option to “steal” from anyone else and give them her gift. We always laugh like crazy when we do it. (Of course, it never hurts to be half in the bag when you do it! LOL)
heres one.
everyone gets kind of funny gag gifts.
even number of people to gifts. no names on the gifts.
every gets a number.
number 1 draws a gift. and opens it.
number 2 draws, and either takes number 1′s and gives number 1 the unopened one….. or opens his own gift
number 3 draws, and either takes number 1 or 2′s, giving his on in place of which ever he took, or opens his own.
go until all the gifts are drawn, at the end. number 1 can exchange his for anyones, since he didnt get an option at the beginning.
candles and keychains
Certificates for restaraunts….AppleBees, Chiles, anywhere. I know we like stuff like that. Its food..Lets Eat!
White elephant.
Otherwise, have everyone role dice, and whoever get a pair gets to switch with whomever s/he chooses. (All the presents are still wrapped.) After everyone has switched a few times, then everyone gets to open the gifts.
Chrismas is 100 days away. Why are you asking now?
Secret Santa. You have everyone that wants to participate fill out a piece of paper and have them give a list of (lets say) 5 items under a certain price limit (lets say $ 20) and then have each person draw a name then on the day of the party you get to know who your Secret Santa is
