Love Letters

Long ago if you wanted to profess your love for someone you wrote them a love letter. You poured out your heart and soul, sent it by mail and waited for a reply. Now, technology has made it possible for you to send off a message of love by email and text.

In just a few keystrokes you can tell your beloved how you feel about them. By hitting send they can have your words of love in minutes. And you can reply in kind just as quickly. Love messages can be posted on social sites for all to see or discreetly sent in a personal message. Everyone can say I love you. Some just have a talent for poetic words and phrases.

If flowery words aren’t your thing, then you can borrow famous love quotes and phrases from well-known authors, poets, actors and political figures to name a few. These people felt so strongly about love that they wrote eloquent words on the subject.

Many activists believed that love had the power to teach and heal. In one of his famous quotes Martin Luther King, Jr. says, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”  Mother Teresa spoke of love a great deal and its ability to overcome odds and misfortune. One of her many quotes about love states, “If you judge people, you have no time to love them.”

Love letters of yesterday have today been replaced by text speak. Now you can simply say “I luv U” as your declaration of love. If you’re really in a hurry you can replace the word love with a heart so your message reads, “I heart U”.  It’s a lot less personal but still conveys the same meaning. Still, nothing is quite as meaningful as words spoken or written from the heart. A love quote is always a nice touch for added emphasis.

Everyone needs love and everyone feels it differently. It can make you smile and laugh and make you want to dance. Some choose to be creative and write about love. There are so many unique ways to express how you feel. There are all kinds of ways of saying you love someone. Sometimes all you need is to look in your heart. For the creatively challenged there are love quotes and messages you can borrow.

Question by GoBuckeyes!: How to write cover letter to a place with no job advertised?
Hello,

I graduate college in May, and I thought now would be a good time to start on the job hunt thing. There’s a company out of state I really want to work for. I want to send my resume to them, along with a cover letter. I know how to write a cover letter, however I’ve only ever written cover letters to places that had a job advertised. How do I write one when there is no job advertised? What should I include in the letter??

Thanks for your help in advance!

Answer by Areeba
I’d highly advise on writing targeted cover letters which target specific positions. If there is a specific type of position in which you are interested in at the company but didn’t have the job description, I would search online for similar jobs which may have the same job duties and write as if that position existed at your targeted company of interest.

If you were aiming to write a universal cover letter which could apply to any position I believe the following breakdown of a cover letter can help greatly:

—————–
Your Name
Address
Contact number
Date

Company Name

Address

Dear Mr./Ms./Dr

(address the letter to a general title like dear hiring manager)

Immediately available, skilled, personable, experienced and I have great passion for the profession!

(include a attention grabbing headline, bold the text)

First Paragraph:

The first paragraph should always answer these questions:

1) What is your reason for writing?
2) What types of roles are you applying for?
(include interested duties)
3) How did you hear about the organization?
4) Is your resume attached?
5) Do you believe the organization will benefit from your qualifications?

Second Paragraph:

The second paragraph should answer these questions:

1) What skills can you bring which match that within the job spec?
2) Do you have any professional accreditation?
3) Are you passionate about working there / why?

Third Paragraph:

The third paragraph should answer these questions:

1) What interests you about the organization?
2) What interests you about the types of work/duties?
3) What do you like about organization from the brief review of it?

Fourth Paragraph:

The third paragraph should answer these questions:

1) When are you available again?
2) Will you contact them and when?
3) Thank them for their time and consideration here
4) What are your contact details again?
5) Are you interested in an interview?

Yours Sincerely

(signature here)

Full Name Typed

———————————–

I hope in the future you gain an interest for a specific career path you are interested in and not just any position within a organization as it will become easier to target certain specific positions.

I wish you all the best,

Hope this helped.

Tattoo Lettering

Tattoo lettering is a very important part of any tattoo design. Luckily there are literally thousands of font styles to choose from. Whether you are getting words alone or a design along with wording, choosing the right style of lettering is very important. Here are some lettering tips and ideas to get you started.

Look at several different fonts before deciding which one you want for your tattoo. If you don’t, you may see something you like better after you’ve already gotten it done, then it will be too late.
If you are getting a design plus words, arrange the design and wording in different ways and experiment with several lettering styles to see which one you like the best.
Try adding some pizzaz to your lettering by making the first letter of each word a different color or each letter of the word a different color.
Substitute a letter for a symbol. For example make the “o” in the word “love” a heart.
If you’re just going with words, try adding a floral design or vines into the wording to make it more unique.
To add some mystery to your design, spell the words backwards or make them a mirror image.

Many online tattoo galleries along with their designs, have a listing of fonts to choose from. You can also do an online search for “tattoo lettering fonts” to find several websites that have them available for free to download. There is such a wide variety of tattoo lettering available today that no matter what kind of style you have in mind, you are sure to find what you’re looking for.

Question by boydscomputer: Writing a letter of interest to a company you already work for?
I just started at a new company 2 months ago, as a typical office assistant. They have a position open in the same department for a Staff Accountant, available in 2 months. The lady in the position is leaving for Germany in October. I have an accounting background, and expressed interest to my HR Director about this opening, and she said to submit a letter of interest. I don’t have a clue where to begin to write a letter of interest for this position, or how to draft a letter of interest when you already work for the company. Any suggestions, tips or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Question by abnormaly confused: How to write a letter of appeal for a job I was denied?
I recently applied for a job and was denied because my criminal background did not meet requirments. They stated in the letter that I could write a letter of appeal. Also in the guidelines it says that anything over 3 years old on the criminal background check is okay. Anything on my background IS over 3 years old. I need help on how to write this letter of appeal and what the letter should contain. Anyone have any tips or know of a website that could help ?

Answer by PicklesMcDoody
I don’t think it needs to be any kind of formal “legalese” type letter. Just write them and explain the situation. If that doesn’t work I met a guy who only had a bike and a leaf rake who claimed he was making $ 80/hr just knocking on doors with leaves in the yard. That’s what I’d be doing if I didn’t already have an ebay business to run. Working for the man is for suckers anyway. Unless you have valuble specialized skills you’re just getting screwed. Mow lawns, shovel snow, blast rain gutters with a pressure washer. Don’t join the bovine masses unless you prove to be a complete failure at making money on your own (only the lazy and very stupid can fail in the united states.)
