A Christmas Birthday Party & Christmas Party Decorations That “Yule” Love!

Article by Elizabeth Chastain

If you’re looking for some Christmas decorating ideas for your upcoming Christmas birthday party or your annual Christmas affair, here’s some fun and fabulous options to consider. These little ideas will help you create Christmas Party pizzazz!

BIG BAD BASKET – Fill a fun basket with colorful ornaments and greenery. You could also opt to use frosted fruits and berries, along with greenery instead. Either way, be sure to embellish the handle with a decorative bow.

GLITZY GOBLETS & MARVY MARTINI GLASSES – Fill clear goblets and martini glasses with small, colorful ornaments, beads spilling out, and tie the stem with a festive bow.

TEAPOT TREE – For a Victorian-type of a decoration, place a small Christmas tree inside of a teapot. Decorate the tree with small teacup and saucer ornaments, ribbons, doilies, and pearls.

CHIPPER CHAIRS – Tie some ribbons and Christmas greenery to the backs of your dining room chairs to add some holiday color. Another option is to attach a fun ornament to the center of a bow and then tie it to the backs of the chairs.

PRETTY POINSETTIA TREE – Gather several barren tree branches and spray-paint them white. Insert them into a container filled with sand and top with decorative white rocks. Glue small, silk poinsettia flowers to green ornaments. Tie the ornaments to your tree branches using green and red ribbons.

RED & WHITE IS ALL RIGHT – To create an elegant and more formal-looking table, opt for a crisp, red tablecloth and napkins with white bone china. Place a long white taper candle in the center of a small bowl (use wax to secure) and fill the bowl with water. Arrange red flowers around the candle. Place a single poinsettia on each plate or tie them around your napkins with a white ribbon.

CHRISTMAS CARD GARLAND – Don’t throw away last year’s cards. Instead, glue them on a decorative ribbon and string them around your party room.

SNAZZY SNOWFLAKES – Using decorative ribbons, tie glitter snowflake ornaments around your napkins, candlestick holders, goblet stems, and to the backs of your dining room chairs. Hang them from your ceiling or chandeliers using fishing line or decorative ribbons.

Five Super Christmas Games For Kids

Article by Andrew Low

Children and Christmas – what a joyful combination. They and their friends will be able to celebrate the season when we remember the birth of Jesus with these five super Christmas games for kids.

Balloon Relay is a team game which requires a balloon (green and red are the colours associated with Christmas), a chair and a ruler for each team. The first player in each team must bat their balloon around their chair at the other end of the room using only the ruler to hit the balloon (no hands or feet). When they return to the starting line the next player in their team takes over, and so on until everyone has completed the course.

Christmas Card Hunt is a fun indoor game for children of all ages. You will need to collect at least three old Christmas cards (or purchase new ones) for each player. The cards should be cut in half and the top sections placed in a box. The lower parts are scattered around the room. Each child chooses one card top from the box and then searches the room in an attempt to find the matching half. Once found, they can choose another card top from the box until they are all gone. The winner at the end of the game is the child with the most complete cards.

Happy Christmas is a counting game where all the children are seated in a circle. The game commences when a nominated player counts “One”, followed by the player on their left who says, “Two” and so on around the circle. When a player should say a multiple of five (that is; 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, etc.), they must say “Happy Christmas!” instead of their number. If a player makes a mistake by counting the wrong number, saying “Merry Christmas!” instead of “Happy Christmas!”, forgets to say, “Happy Christmas!”or says it at the wrong time, they are out of the game. The final player wins.

Jingle Bells, as its name implies, is a noisy Christmas game for kids. Each player is given a blindfold, except one who is given a small bell and is not blindfolded. This player moves around an area while ringing the bell and calling out, “Merry Christmas!” while trying to avoid the other players as they try to catch them. If the player is caught, they swap the blindfold and bell. If you don’t have enough room, four or five catchers can play until the bell-ringer is caught when the remaining players change places with those who have just played.

Ho Ho Ho is a lot of fun for a simple game. The first player lays on the floor with the second player laying at right angles with his head on the first player’s stomach. Player Three lies down in the same direction as Player One but with her head on Player Two’s stomach, and so on. When everyone is in position, Player One says “Ho!” followed by Player Two who says “Ho-Ho” and so on. If any player makes a mistake by saying the wrong number of “Ho’s” or giggles or laughs, the whole team starts again from the beginning. Ho Ho Ho can also be played as a race between two teams.

Christmas Holiday Gift Ideas For Those at a Distance

These days, most people do not live in the area where they grew up. People move to different locations for careers, college, marriage, and other reasons. Often this comes to mean leaving special people behind when we relocate. Although we try to stay in touch throughout the year, it can make it complicated to know what to do when the holidays come around. A plain Christmas card is simply not enough for family members, dear friends, or even special neighbors whom we love and cherish.

Finding nice Christmas holiday gift ideas for those at a distance does not need to be a frustrating task. You can remind those special people exactly how much they mean to you with a Christmas gift that clearly has your love attached.

Shopping via the internet is also a useful tool to use when thinking about Christmas holiday gift ideas. We all seem to have very busy lives and some of us do not get pleasure from shopping at the mall, especially during the holiday season. Internet shopping provides you with a time frame that fits into your schedule and supplies you with a tool to shop for the best price and enables you to find the most unique and personal gifts available, literally in the world.

A chocolate holiday gift basket is one Christmas holiday gift idea which will be well received by your friends and family members who live at a distance. Not only are these chocolate gift baskets a beautiful gift to receive, your friends and relatives will surely enjoy using it. Although there are many different sizes and styles from which to choose, a silver holiday festive gift basket is one of the most beautiful. The silver basket itself will be a lovely addition to your special person’s home, so he or she can display it long after finishing the delicious treats packed inside.

Imagine the delight on your loved ones face when he or she opens this extra special gift! The chocolate holiday gift basket can be delivered to your special person’s home or office, so he or she can enjoy it throughout the holidays. The beautiful containers, of course, will be happily displayed long after the Christmas season is over.

If you are away at school or have simply moved to a different location, your Mom and Dad would love to receive a decorative Christmas flag from you. This lovely flag can be personalized with their names, so that they will be proud to display it on their porch or in their garden. When you send a Christmas flag, you can include a house bracket or a suction cup clip for easy display.

It would not be the Christmas season without reminding your loved ones who live at a distance how much they still mean to you. These are only a couple of the gifts available to help you to show them how much you care. They will not only be receiving a Christmas gift, they will be receiving a wonderful reminder of your love.
