Poker Quiz

The key element to achieving great things from your online quiz or trivia test is planning and having a clear direction and anticipated outcomes. Writing the perfect online quiz or trivia test can be a bit daunting if you have never done it before so here is a quick guide. Poker Quiz

1. Choose a Topic
First of all you need to ensure that you topic is relevant to your site and is interesting enough to make someone want to participate in the online quiz. It is recommended to chose a subject that is topical and also has a good selection of trivia to chose from.

2. End Result
It is a good idea to have a plan of what the outcome of the quiz will be. This will govern how the result will be displayed to the participant. For example will the quiz test knowledge or help the participant make a decision?

If it is a knowledge test a scoring system works best where each right answer has a preset value or the score is given as a percentage/ fraction such as You scored 75% correct or You answered 20/25 correctly.

If the quiz is to help a decision process and therefore a prompt to purchase the outcome will be observational based on your answers we recommend the following

3. Quiz Structure
Depending on the topic and the proposed end result the question may lead in a specific direction. It is advisable for there to be 2-5 options for each answer. These can be True or False multiple choice or Sliding Scale.

In addition to deciding what type of quiz you’ll write, you need to determine how many questions your quiz should have. Most quizzes contain 5, 7, or 10 questions. If you’re new at writing quizzes and still unsure, start with a 5-question quiz. Poker Quiz

4. Write the online quiz questions
Keeping the purpose of your online quiz in mind, you will now write questions for your quiz. You should make sure you have a mixture of question based on difficulty level. If the questions are True or False or Multiple choice each question must not be open to interpretation and must have a specific answer. When using sliding scales make sure the answers are likely to have an appropriate response.

For example if writing a poker quiz and using this question how many hands of poker do you play per week?

A sliding scale would not give an appropriate response:

1=hardly any 5=lots

Where as a multiple choice answer would give a better outcome:

a. 0-10
b. 11-20
c. 21-30
d. 31-40
e. 41+

If the quiz is being published on your website or blog it can be a nice personal touch to add explanations to the answer reveals possibly adding extra information or prompts to other areas of your site.

5. Extra Features
Having online quizzes on ones website or blog is a great source of sticky content however they can also be spreadable. If you are able try to include some API which allows the user to post their score to their social profiles and challenge their friends to beat their score. This action can increase new user traffic to your site and potentially can be a great viral promotional tool. Poker Quiz

6. Test
Once you have written all your questions it is advisable to thoroughly test your online quiz or trivia test before promoting it. Send the quiz to a test group to ensure that the questions are phrased correctly to give the designed outcome and that the functionality of the code is working 100%.

7. Conversion
Depending on what your goal was when planning your online quiz your quiz should have two parts at the end. The results of the quiz and the call to action, If the purpose is to prompt an online purchase ensure that there is an easy link to the recommended products. If however you wanted to build an email database you may decide not to reveal the answers/ score before the email capture call to action, perhaps deciding to send the result via email.

Using online quizzes in your content planning can have some fantastic results for increasing traffic, reducing bounce rates and increasing the amount of time spent on the site as well as an engaging call to action process.

25.) 94

Well those needed to be easier, but it was fun

Edit: Um not. Unless MV is the tennis dictionary, she did not know the answers to all those questions, therefore I still deserve BA

Edit: However, you didn’t follow the directions:

Please guys to make it more fun don’t cheat and guess if you don’t know because after all it is only fun and not serious! Best of luck everyone! And some of the questions may be hard!”

I could have easily wiki’ed all the answers, but I follow directions. I deserve BA ;)

The pub quiz

Article by Jimmy Cliff

The Pub Quiz is a huge pastime in the UK and I reckon that if done in an entertaining and fun way the fun pub quiz could be huge in other countries like the USA too. What this article sets out to explain is what a pub quiz is all about and maybe inspire some people to start a quiz of their own. Some take it seriously and some do not but what ever type of quiz a pub hosts it is fast becoming a very popular event.Personally, I go for the latter, I think a fun pub quiz is so much better than a serious pub quiz for many reasons. To start with a fun pub quiz should be easy and when I say easy I mean that anybody should be able to answer about 70% of the questions correctly. Why do you think that The Weakest Link is so popular? It’s for everybody, your every day Joe. Apply this to a pub quiz and you can easily see why a fun quiz will be so popular.I’ve been a quiz master for 10 years and last Christmas I was gifted a quiz trivia book, called “The biggest trivia quiz book in the world”, containing over 14,000 pub quiz questions. I could easily take any of the questions from that book and put together a tough quiz in a matter of minutes, but to make a fun quiz is a different story.I had to go through hundreds of questions from this book just to get 20 for my first general knowledge round, it took me well over an hour! From this huge book I was able to use only about 5% of the questions where as with a tough pub quiz I could have used most of them.A fun quiz needs to have not just questions but picture rounds, speed rounds, Dingbats and brain teasers to name a few things that make fun quizzes so popular.Of course you will have to find a subject for the picture round first which you should try to vary as much as possible. Try to think of fresh subject matter each week to keep the quiz as varied as possible. To give you an idea of what I’m talking about here are some picture round themes I have done before. Classic cars, planes, dogs, cartoon characters, logos, mystery objects and so on.. After a while it really does get more and more difficult to think of new picture round ideas, sometimes I can think one up in minutes and sometimes it can take me an hour or more. You will find that a lot of pub quizzes always do the same subject for their picture round every week, mostly you will see them do celebrities because it’s easy to get the pictures and does not require any thought process and is not time consuming. That’s OK for some people but it can get boring after a short while.Try to choose questions that anybody can at least have a good guess atHere’s an example of a question you would find in a typical pub quiz and a question taken from a fun pub quiz.”Who scored England’s first goal in the Euro 2000?”"What’s tattooed on Pop-eye’s arm?”Let’s look at the first question, a typical question from a serious pub quiz, you either know the answer or you don’t, and most people won’t know the answer. If your quiz is full of questions that most people can’t answer then the likelihood of them returning next week is going to be pretty slim.If you look at the second question, taken from a fun quiz, even if you don’t know the answer you can still have a pretty good guess. That’s what you should try to do, pick questions that anybody can at least have a guess at. By the way, the answer is an anchor. Can you see how the second question has a fun element to it?People will attempt to guess the answer to the second one but they will simply leave the first one blank. Think about it. If at the end of the quiz you see that most of your pub quiz answer sheet is empty are you likely to hand it in for marking? Wouldn’t you be embarrassed? More importantly, would you return next week?
